Communist housing apartments are a large legacy in Bucharest. Most people tend to evacuate everything old and remodel their newly inhabited dwellings according to current standards and conventions, often with sterile and impersonal results.
We sought to keep the high quality floor finishes (mosaics and wooden floors) and some furniture items, in order to maintain some traces of the character of this place, while trying to increase its comfort and create pleasant spaces. We consider sustainable to reuse elements when they have some sort of value and character and when the quality of those items are considerably better than new accessible items.
